We definetly need an energy policy developed, one that includes all forms of energy. It may take years to wean ourselves off of fossil fuels so I'd rather spend the money here in our country to produce it rather than elsewhere. We've become too dependent on others for our future well being; and not just in energy. I think it will require the citizens of this country to really speak up.

Not saying we shouldn't be drilling to become self-sufficient, but that is only a band-aid.

The real problem is that the powers-that-be want to keep the American people in slavery to oil.

Who are the powers-that-be? Our politicians, huge corporations and the international bankers behind them.

There is PLENTY of oil left in this HUGE planet. Really folks, think about it. This place is ENORMOUS in comparison to the small little portions us ant-like people inhabit.

The "shortage" of oil cries are nothing but propaganda. Same as the ability to "conveniently" blame all our problems on the Arabs. Reminds me of Hitler blaming all of Germany's problems on the Jews.

Bad guys always need a scapegoat.

But the picture is even bigger than that. We've had cars for over 40 years that could get 100 mpg. We have cars today that can run off of water! We have electric cars. We have wind power, water power, nuclear power.

Really? Is oil that important? No. It is simply the chain of economic slavery.

Are the Arabs the problem? No. The problem is those in leadership that call themselves Americans, but aren't.

(By the way, I'm not an Arab.....LOL)

I agree 98%. But why don't we send the rag heads a mesage " Drop the price of crude drastically, or you can EAT YOUR SAND, if it is to dry pour come oil on it!" Then maybe we can produce our own. BUT we must be prepared to back up what we say. I'm 68 years old and will ride a bicycle if necessary. We should also not do any trading with any country that sends food to the oil countries.

Everything should be on the table, from conservation to increased energy production of ALL kinds. Heck, Red Adair's buddies can drill in MY back yard for all I care, if it will increase our oil or gas production. Maybe they'll take down that seedless Cottonwood tree for us while they're at it. I'll mark where our sprinkler system lines run so they can drill around them.

Anyone else get Lee Terry's Energy Plan letter? He has the right words and and we can only hope, the spunk to keep pushing for both ends of the energy equation.

Roland,

Currently, there are a number of congressman angry at Nancy Pelosi refusing to allow a vote on domestic drilling of oil. Though the media is blocking much of the news about this, the Internet and social networks are broadcasting the return of the backbone by some of the congressmen in the House.

To find out more, please check out http://www.dontgomovement.org and sign up for Twitter at http://www.twitter.com . We are using the #dontgo symbol for our postings, which you can see at http://search.twitter.com and typing in that symbol to search upon.

I'm happy to be part of this growing movement, and proud to be one of the first 100 people to have signed the online petition asking Pelosi to hold a vote.

Please check out these sites to hear more on this issue...more than the socialists want you to know.

It's not that we should drill in a given location but, rather, that we should not arbitrarily refuse to drill there. The decision should be financial, not ideological. If the producer can make a profit, go ahead and drill. If not, wait until prices rise higher.
