The same fundamental rules of money apply to people anywhere in the world.
This truth was especially apparent during a recent presentation, titled "Creating and Preserving Wealth Through Long-Term Investing," the firm offered to nearly three dozen international students as part of the University of Nebraska at Omaha's 2012 "Road to Omaha" summer immersion program. The firm was one of many local businesses and corporations that participated in the 10-day event, designed to expose students from UNO’s partner schools to American business and culture.
Our workshop, held at the firm’s offices June 22, was given by Dave Blair and I. The nearly four-hour presentation offered information on how to achieve financial independence; how to use fiscal and monetary policies to make investment decisions; and investment vehicles to consider, among many other topics.
The opportunity to share some of these rules with these students was important to our firm, since education is central to our mission and philosophy. We were delighted to be part of it.
